a well-known Cleveland
landmark

The Cleveland Grays was founded in 1837 as an independent
company of volunteer militia in Cleveland, Ohio, and its members
were among the first to serve during the Civil War. Today, The Cleveland Grays is a 501(c)3 non-profit
organization with a membership that includes service men and women, veterans,
historians, and dedicated people who are committed to supporting the museum
mission and participating in its historical programs.

Museum seeks to serve the community in a
variety of ways ~ its chief objectives are to:

Sustain
Cleveland Grays Armory as a treasured landmark, and chart a future course for
building renovation, artifact conservation, organizational growth, and
capital improvement

Augment
heritage tourism and local sightseeing by improving our site exhibits and
visitor accommodations

Offer a wide
variety of educational programs and special museum events that will appeal to
a diverse patron populations

Encourage
scholarship and facilitate thoughtful dialogue in topics that are germane to the military and
society, especially in the areas of student outreach programs and academic
internships

Provide
support mechanisms and offer collaborative partnerships to other historical
organizations, civic associations, and non-profits

Partner with
veterans support agencies, charitable groups, and civil-military
organizations for the mutual benefit of all and the betterment of the
community
